Long standing Gastro Pub concept with multiple units is ready for some new food!
We are currently in search of a R&D Chef to liven up this very successful and growing concept. Part of a multi-concept restaurant group, this concept is poised to grow and grow quickly.
A past in R&D is preferred but not entirely necessary. You must be self motivated as this is a “lone wolf” type of position. You will be working closely with the owner and Chef/Partner to methodically test new menu items that are soulful, consistent with current food trends and fit within the casual yet upscale atmosphere of the concept.
Having a past as a Culinary Director or overseeing multiple units will also be considered. This is a very important and big position within the company. You also must have strong financial skills when it comes to costing, theoretical food cost, forecasting for price increases and the like.
This is a position that has no room for ego. You may put out 10 dishes and if they are not approved, you need to be able to filter why these items are not being approved and use that information to hit the nail on the head for your next try.
