We are in search of a PASTRY CHEF to oversee our large commissary kitchen. With a staff of about 30 people, you will be overseeing the production of pastries, cakes and the like. Our kitchen is located in San Fernando and that is where you will be based. On occasion you may be needed to go to the stores for new item roll outs but your home base will be the commissary kitchen.
You will be working closely with the Quality Control Manager and your staff to ensure quality and consistency of the cakes and decorating. You will be in charge of setting production schedules, scheduling all staff, oversee cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment as well as cost controls, inventory, ordering etc.
A past as a pastry chef/baker is important to you succeeding in this position. You must have a background that includes pastries and cake decorating so you can assist in training the staff in current and any new items you add to the menus. You will have the opportunity to create new items that would go into all of our stores and also into our retail line as we venture into that market.
Needed skills include administrative and cost control skills, ability to work with a large staff, ability to communicate in Spanish and English. You must have strong training skills and enjoy developing your crew. Decent computer skills are needed for costing, inventory and the like.
This is a hands on position that is offering around $80K base salary (DOE) as well as a great health insurance package
