The ideal Head Baker has strong past experience in managing a team working in high-volume restaurants. This chef must have a passion in classic Jewish/American baking, such as bagels, babka, rugelach, cookies, cakes, etc. This position will have the opportunity to develop, maintain, and grow our unique bread and dessert program, and will have significant potential for growth as this iconic concept is looking to grow.
You will be expected to take the lead in managing the production schedule and plating specifications and make sure they are consistently adhered to, manage, coordinate and train the team engaged in pastry production and ensure and maintain the productivity level of the pastry team. You will be in charge of scheduling and maintenance of highest quality standards, enforce all sanitation and safety standards. You will be in direct communication with the other kitchen management as well as the FOH staff.
You will also have the opportunity to develop seasonal bakery and dessert menus and have a huge part in developing our catering options.
