Long standing restaurant in the Beach Cities is looking to revamp it’s entire menu and wants a qualified and passionate Chef to lead this exciting culinary undertaking! This restaurant has been very successful for many years (part of a multi-concept restaurant group that is rapidly growing) and has developed a loyal customer base so the menu changes will be methodical, well thought out and a collaborative effort. No room for culinary egos in this position. A passion for seasonal products is a must as this menu will be evolving with the seasons as well. The concept is very wine focused, Central Coast food and they ownership wants to keep that as the focus. Lighter, seasonal food. The menu overhaul also will be happening to the catering menus. FUN STUFF!
Aside from the menu change over, you will be responsible for developing your sous chefs so they can grow as well. Staff training and retention while maintaining a positive kitchen environment is paramount. Maintaining food and labor cost budgets while not sacrificing food quality or the guest experience is of the utmost importance.
You must have a successful past when it comes to working in notable restaurants doing at least $5M per year while maintaining costs and quality. You also must have very high sanitation standards as well as maintain a hyper-organized kitchen and restaurant. This is an open kitchen that creates a lot of excitement in the restaurant so it’s very important it looks and “feels” slick and streamlined.
