We are looking for an EXECUTIVE CHEF to run a new restaurant opening in an upscale resort community in Colorado.  This city flaunts 2 very strong seasons (summer and winter) and caters to the elite.  This is a small community so its very important that this chef is not only open to but excited to live in a beautiful area that offers lots of outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, biking and so much more.  If you’re a “city person”, this is not for you. This is a gorgeous area that is heaven for someone that loves the outdoors.

The perfect chef will not only have a background working at high end, quality restaurants but also possesses a strong entrepreneurial approach to their responsibilities and decision making. This location is the furthest from the corporate offices so it’s important that this chef has the ability to make smart business decisions that will better the restaurant.  With about 80 seats inside and a patio that seats 40, this is a “controllable” restaurant that will have a strong focus on lunch business (located at the slopes!), yet still maintain a solid dinner presence in the food scene here.  The menu will have several core items as this is an existing concept within the group. The chef will be tasked with the creativity for the rest of the menu as long as it fits the brand.
This is a very exciting and important opening for this growing group and we are looking for someone that embrace this concept and bring their personality to it as well.  You must have a strong grasp on costs, labor and the administrative part of the position as well.

This is a new opening of one of their existing concepts and they are growing very quickly.  This is a young group and is looking to grow and develop their core management team so they can expand with strong talent under their umbrella. This group believes in promoting from within and there are plenty of opportunities for long term growth within the company, including possible equity down the road.

Offering a competitive salary of up to $100K base salary, health insurance reimbursement, ski pass, 3 weeks paid vacation in your first year, an educational reimbursement to start.  The company may entertain a relocation package as well for the right chef.  Since this is a seasonal area, the restaurant will close down in “off season” times.  We plan on the restaurant being closed October- November and for the month of May (this is subject to change based on business). You are encouraged to take your vacation during these times and when not on vacation, you will have a chance to regroup and get ready for the following season.
